About me
What is the meaning behind Aya Ch’aska?
Aya Ch’aska translates to soul star or star spirit in Quechua
Aya Ch’aska was founded by Sofia Alexandria Moran, a first generation American of the Mexican and Peruvian decent. Sofia’s vision is to create a brand that honors her indigenous roots while evoking remembrance of our connection to our true essence, the spirit of a star.
With 10 years of experience in tattooing and 24 years of creating art, Sofia’s mission is to create beautiful bodies of work that evoke deep feelings and encourage people to proceed in their healing journey.
Sofia has been on the spiritual path and healing journey for 7+ years, and continues to fully commit her life to the practice of love and growth in all aspects. She pays her respects to the teachers of plant medicine and the indigenous communities who’ve preserved the sacred traditions and practices. Upon experiencing some profound ceremonies and integrating them into her daily life rituals, she is called to bring healing and transformation into her tattoo craft by infusing ritual and greater intention.
TATTOO faQS
To book an appointment, email ayachaska@gmail.com stating your interest in getting tattooed by Sofia , & her wonderful assistant Paul will walk you through the following steps.
Due to the integrity of Sofia’s art and practice, not everyone’s tattoo request will be accepted, projects that best suit her style and creative expression will be prioritized.
Each tattoo project is an original work of art that is tailored to the client that Sofia has carefully designed with prayer & intention.
Each tattoo session will begin with opening the 4 doors. (the 4 directions and 4 elements) this will be comprised of prayer and the smudging of ethically sourced sacred medicines like white sage and/or Palo Santo to cleanse the space and ground the energy.
